Link building

As you may know in order to improve your rankings in search engines like Google you need ‘backlinks’ from other quality websites. We designed the content power service with search engine optimisation in mind. We include at least 2 backlinks to different pages on your site with each post we publish and because all our posts go on good quality blogs those links will really help your SEO.

Outsourcing link building is hard to get right. There are plenty of services who offer to build you hundreds or thousands of backlinks for a relatively small fee. The links you’ll get from this type of service unfortunately offer as much in value as they cost- very little. Most respected SEO’s are agreed that when it comes to link building, although numbers are still important, getting permanent links on quality sites is the best long term strategy- and thats exactly what Content Power does.

For some websites in less competitive sectors the links created by your Content Power campaign may replace the need for other link building work. In more competitive areas Content Power accompanies other link building efforts, ensuring you get links from a number of sources.

Just compare the types of backlinks which Content Power creates with other commonly used but less effective link building tactics:

Article Syndication

Works by creating low quality content and distributing it to thousands of websites, some of whom will publish it with a link. The problem is most if not all of these sites have duplicate content penalties meaning they pass virtually no value in their links to your website.

Content Power on the other hand- write unique posts for each blog we work with and only publish to sites which have their own unique content

Directory submission

Can create thousands of links but most of these directories have no traffic and are devalued massively by Google. The only directories which still offer value are quality paid submission sites like the Yahoo directory or BOTW or the odd quality free directory like DMOZ. We encourage you to submit to these, in addition to using Content Power of course! The other issue with directories is you can only link to your homepage and usually can’t control the anchor text used for your link.

Content Power on the other hand – only publishes on sites with regular visitors who link out only to selected websites, not anyone who’s willing to pay the entry fee. Also you can link to your internal pages and control the anchor text you use which is better for keyword targeting.

Link exchange

Swapping links may still offer you some benefits however in order to really improve rankings you need quality one-way links. Most sites who take part in link excahnge are low quality and your link will likely be on a ‘links’ page with lots of other sites meaning it will send little traffic to your site.

Content Power on the other hand – only build one-way links with quality sites. Your links will be embedded in the content of the post and at the top of the page as an author credit, where they are likely to drive traffic to your site.

Paid links

Paid links usually have little editorial value. They often appear in sidebars or footers where they’re likely to be devalued by the search engines and drive little traffic. Buying links on quality websites can be very expensive as fees are often recurring. Also paid links violate Google’s Webmaster guidelines meaning the site linking to you could get penialised, rendering the link worthless.

Content Power on the other hand – create content and links which offer great editorial value. We place links within the main body of the page where they will be read, clicked and counted by search engines. There are no recurring fees for the blog posts we publish so you only pay once to get a link which will last for years.

Link bait

Creating great content which attracts natural links has always been a good idea. Many SEO companies are now selling this as a link bait service. In principle this is great but there are no guarentees you will get any links out of a link bait piece.

Content Power on the other hand – only charges for blog posts which are successfully placed meaning you are guarenteed at least 2 links per post. The exposure which Content Power creates in the blogsphere means you’re likely to get more links naturally from other bloggers.

How we can work with your existing link building agency

If you already employ an SEO agency to manage your link building we are happy to work alongside them and fit the Content Power service into your existing strategy. Our service is a great compliment to other high quality link building tactics, particularly in competitive market places where it is important to get links from a variety of sources i.e. not just blogs or directories.
